Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a youth leadership camp that gives high school students hands-on active learning activities and sessions to build on their own leadership skills. RYLA 5580 is sponsored by Rotary International District 5580 for a week each summer at the University of Minnesota Crookston campus.

Camp RYLA was an experience I will truly never forget. It changed me in so many positive ways and I met so many wonderful people with such bright futures. If you ever get the opportunity to go, I strongly encourage you to do so. It will probably be one of the best weeks of your life if you're open to it!

Still not sure what happens at Camp RYLA?

Rotary District 5580 is looking for exceptional candidates from around the district to participate in the week-long Camp RYLA. Ideally, local clubs will collaborate with past RYLArians, teachers, coaches, and counselors to identify and select proven and potential leaders in area communities.

Who should apply

  • Potential leaders attending high school in Rotary District 5580
  • Students entering their senior year (preferably) or junior year of high school
  • Individuals Involved in school activities, including: athletics, fine arts, and student government
  • Individuals with volunteer and/or work experience
  • Students with good academic records
